Asake Allegedly Sold His Soul After He Was Spotted With Michèle Lamy

Asake's journey to fame and what fans are now thinking about him

Fame, wealth and peace are essential in every human’s life. Lucky ones have the three but what if you have one but lack the others? Nigerian global singer and dancer, Asake has been facing a serious backlashes over his association with Michèle Lamy, the rumored Queen of Darkness and the high priestess of Hollywood. Is Asake now a member of the Illuminati? Let’s find out!

WHO IS ASAKE?
Born Ahmed Ololade, Asake is a Nigerian singer, dancer and a fashion icon recognized for his unique melodies and style which consists of the blend of his native language “Yoruba” and the famous Nigerian Pidgin. He is also one of the promising talents that took Afrobeats to many global stages. His music genres includes Afrobeats, Fuji, Fuji Fusion, Street Pop, Afropop and Afro Fusion. Born on the 13th of January 1995, Asake is expected to be 30 years old this year. He is not only known for his singing prowess but also he is an actor, dancer and a songwriter, a feature that made him an all round superstar.

HOW THE DREAM STARTS:
Raised from the streets of Lagos, Asake seemed to be a focus young man who knew from the start what he is destined to be. As a young man with big dreams, he decided to chase his dreams while undergoing a formal education. While studying Theatre and Dramatic Arts in Obafemi Awolowo University also known as OAU, Asake took part in a couple of creative programs and events. Some of such events include his appearance in comedy skits alongside the famous Nigerian comedian Broda Shaggi who also acted as Asake’s road manager at that time, he acted in his school drama troop while also performing as a singer and a dancer during school events. According to Asake in one of his interviews, he said “From the start, I wanted to be a dancer but music choose me”. That indicated Asake’s first love is dance but unknown to him, God had bigger plans for him.
Asake dropped a song dubbed “Mr Money” in early 2020 which becomes an instant hit. He proceeded to drop the remix which featured Zlatan and Perruzi.

DEAL WITH YBNL:
Asake signed a record deal with the legendary rapper Olamide’s record label, YBNL after his “Mr Money” record went viral. “I texted Baddo several times but didn’t receive a response” he said in an interview. According to him, Olamide invited him to his house one day and represented him with a contract after he was introduced to Olamide by his close friend and a nightlife big boy, Yhemo Lee. That’s the beginning of greatness and the birth of an outstanding and unique talent.
As expected, music lovers already knew an YBNL signee will always dominate and Asake is not an exception. Just after he was signed, he dropped his debut extended play dubbed “Ololade”. The EP spreads like a wildfire. Asake was already on a fast trip to fame. Songs like “Omo Ope” and “Sungba” became the talk of the town. Asake’s pace throughout the year 2022 was one of its kind and it is still regarded as one of the best run by an Afrobeats artist. Just when he was about to accelerate again, Empire, one of the biggest distribution companies came through for him with a deal in July 2022.

ASAKE’s DEBUT ALBUM:
Few months after the Empire distribution deal, Asake dropped his debut album “Mr Money With The Vibe”. An album which was packed with hits. Songs like “Terminator”, “Sungba Remix” which featured the Grammy Award winning artist and the self-acclaimed African Giant, Burna Boy and “Peace be Unto You”. At this point, Asake is dusting his peers in the music space as his songs was on the lips of both the young and the old, the locals and the foreigners. What makes his music even more unique is his ability to blend his dialect with Pidgin and English. He became a household name in just few months after signing his major record deal. “Mr Money With The Vibe” debuted on the Billboard top 200 chart at number 66.

HIS ALBUMS, SELLING OUT O2 ACADEMY AND THE O2 ARENA:
Asake’s global music journey began after the success of his debut album which gained millions of streams.
He announced his “Mr Money With The Vibe” UK tour in September 2022 while he sold out the Brixton O2 Academy for three (3) consecutive nights. One of its kind in Afrobeats’ history in the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, on the third day of his show, there was a stampede which cost the life of two attendees while a lot more were injured. It was a bittersweet moment for the superstar.

But man must be on the road no matter what. Asake announced the release of his second album “Work of Art” after the successful release of his singles “Yoga”, “2:30” and “Amapiano” featuring his record label boss, Olamide. After appearing on “Good Morning America” show and discussing the album, “Work of Art” was finally dropped on the 16th of June, 2023. An album that became his second album to be certified silver in the United Kingdom after “Mr Money With The Vibe”. It also charted on Billboard Hot 200, UK Albums Chart and Irish Albums Chart.
In September 2023, he became the first African artist to sell out the Barclays Center in New York City. A very significant record for an artist who was still fresh in the industry.

Like that was not enough, Asake went ahead and sold out the famous 20,000 capacity London’s O2 Arena joining the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Rema as the only African artists that attained that feat. After the successful O2 Arena concert, Asake went back to the studio and brought out the album, “Lungu Boy” his third studio album in August 2024. The album and “MMS”, a song on the “Lungu Boy” album which featured the legendary singer Wizkid became the most first day streamed album and song on Spotify Nigeria respectively at the time the album was released. Before the release of “Lungu Boy”, Asake already announced the album’s tour in June 2024.

OLAMIDE’s IMPACT ON ASAKE:
Olamide Gbenga Adedeji who is musically known as Olamide’s influence on Asake’s career can’t be overlooked. From giving him this first major record deal to giving him verses on his first global hit “Omo Ope” and “Amapiano”, Olamide’s footprint is all over Asake’s enviable career. The “Science Student” hit maker is considered one of the biggest talent discoverers in the Nigeria music scene alongside Don Jazzy of Mavin Records. Talents like Fireboy DML, Lil Kesh, Lyta, Adekunle Gold and others are his products. A man who is known for his big heart and his “low key” lifestyle.

ASAKE’s EXIT FROM YBNL:
Anything that has a beginning will definitely has an end. Asake’s story took a new turn after the rumors of his exit from YBNL was all over the internet. He unfollowed the label and that made fans believe it was really an end of an era. As the rumors were getting intense everyday, the confirmation the fans needed was all over their faces. Even though both the record label and Asake didn’t put out any official statement to confirm their split, Asake dropped a new song “WHY LOVE” under a new label by name “Giran Republic” on 12th February, 2025 which finally marked the end of him and YBNL’s partnership.

HIS NEW LOOK AND TATTOOS:
The internet was in frenzy after Asake dropped the snippet of “WHY LOVE” on his Instagram page. Thousands of comments, some criticizing his new look while others backing him. Few few hours later, he dropped clear HD pictures of his new look with visible face tattoos. Some commenters alleged he sold his soul to the devil. The rumors keep flying all over from Instagram to X (formally known as Twitter) and other platforms. It is a common tag music lovers always attached to celebrities with weird looks and this is just Asake’s turn.

HIS MEETING WITH MICHELE LAMY:
During the 2025 Paris Fashion week, celebrities from all over the world gathered in the city of Paris, France as they were branded in designs. During the celebration, the 81 years old fashion designer and film producer, Michèle Lamy made an appearance. A video of her and Asake emerged which resurrected the rumors about Asake’s involvement in the Illuminati or the dark world. The video circulated for days.

Now who is Michèle Lamy and why the video of her and Asake was disturbing for his fans? Michèle is a French fashion and cultural icon but there’s something disturbing about her. She has this scary look same as her designed outfits. Michèle is rumored to be the Queen of darkness. Others also said she possesses powers. Powers that can even stop rain. She once stopped rain live on camera. People also said she is the gateway to fame. Her looks alone makes one think if she is really just a fashion designer. Twitter posts alleged she and her husband Rick Owens are top Illuminati priests. Most of the posts revealed how powerful Michèle Lamy might be. Are people making these assumptions just because of her looks or because the whole Hollywood respect her?
Michèle is also referred to as the High Priestess of Hollywood. Global musicians like Asap Rocky and Travis Scott also have disturbing photographs with the alleged celebrity witch.

The boy from the streets of Lagos who is doing great things on the global stage with his talent, did he sell his soul for fame after the fallout with YBNL?
